Insurance companies are trained to settle a case early. They do that because they know if they’re overpaying on one claim, they’re underpaying on three others. Any settlement you have with the insurance company is going to be final. They will try and settle it before you know the full nature and extent of your injuries. Whenever you have a continuing course of treatment, it’s a good idea to get a lawyer and what I do with all of our clients and we have it built into our representation agreement, is that within a month if either of us decide this is not a case to go forward, I can just simply talk to my client for 15 minutes and tell them how to handle this on their own. Often we get involved early before you know the full length of treatment or what you’ll need and so we guide you through that process and if it’s something you can do on your own we’ll help you do that
