My name is Dave Tschantz. I grew up in the Akron area. For undergrad, I went to John Carroll in Cleveland and graduated with honors in 2005. I went back to Akron for law school, graduated with honors in 2011, and started working for the Gervelis Law Firm. I’m active in the Ohio Association for Justice, and I’m also an officer with the Akron Trial Lawyers Association. Throughout my career here, I’ve been recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, and I’m part of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. I really enjoy being an expert in a field. I like being someone that people come to consult with and using that knowledge to help them. Early on in my career at Gervelis Law Firm, I had a client who had been badly injured in a car wreck that her mom caused. She had an insurance policy, and her mother had an insurance policy with the same company. Both policies denied the claim. In this instance after meeting with my clients for a while, I realized the home that they worked at was actually a converted trailer that was split-level and was actually two separate residences. Putting that together and filing it in court, I was able to make this policy language that was so restricted, work to pay the claim.
